Dr. Ivor Benjamin specializes in gynecologic oncology, and specifically in minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci surgical robot.
Dr. Benjamin joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2013 and also serves as the director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center’s
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, respectively, in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University in Connecticut. Dr. Benjamin attended medical school at Columbia University and served both his internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he would eventually serve as assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well.
Specializing in minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci surgical robot, and has performed more than 450 complex robotic gynecologic surgeries. He is medical director of the robotic surgery program at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, and serves as a robotic surgery proctor for training and skills certification of other surgeons throughout the country. Dr. Benjamin also is vice chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph’s, an associate professor at Creighton University School of Medicine at St. Joseph’s, and part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Benjamin is board certified by American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and has a Subspecialty Certification in Gynecological Oncology. He has been named in the Guide to America’s Top Oncologists and awarded for his work by the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, among others.
Dr. Benjamin is a “Top Doc” honoree by Phoenix Magazine.
